Ashtanga yoga is a daily practice where students ideally practice 6 days a week with one day for rest. Practitioners also take rest during the full moon and the new moon days.

*During moon days, the sun and moon are in a line relative to the position of the earth. Consequently, the gravitational forces are combined, and the effect of these ‘planets’ more pronounced. The moon's gravitational pull isn't strong enough to make significant changes on land, but it can be clearly felt in water. We can notice how ocean's tides are higher and lower during full and new moon days. Since our body is mostly made up of water, its influence can be felt on us as well. It affects our energy levels, our emotions, joints and makes us more prone to injuries.

*Moon days are a good time to pause and reflect on the changes happening within our body, mirroring the ebb and flow of nature’s cycle
